The incumbent in this role will monitor and control all mechanical maintenance activities within the Ore Flow maintenance group to ensure safety targets are met or exceeded; and maximum availability and reliability of equipment's are met, within the budget requirements.

Additional responsibilities:
1. Ensure a safe work environment is provided; promote safety awareness and safe work practices to eliminate accidents. NOSA, ISO 14001.
2. Monitor and control maintenance activities to ensure preventative maintenance is implemented in all areas according to the schedule and minimize or prevent unscheduled downtime.
3. Compile, review, reconcile and control manning and financial budgets to ensure the maintenance costs and manning levels operate at maximum efficiency.
4. Provide technical expertise and direction within and outside the maintenance group where required.
5. Monitor daily and weekly production reports from each area to analyze the causes of downtime and develop recommendations to prevent this downtime.
6. Coach, train and provide both technical and tactical assistance to national employees to improve their skills and knowledge to the required levels when performing their jobs.
7. Plan and monitor warehouse inventory to ensure area's equipment is available.
8. Manage and monitor SAP system to ensure equipment's history and costs of repairs are being maintained.
9. Review SOPs, CPRs and JSAs to provide guidance for all employees in performing their daily tasks.

Bachelor's (S1) degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least ten (10) years of working experience in plant maintenance, of which two (2) years in maintenance planning, three (3) years as Foreman and a minimum two (2) years as General Foreman or a trade's background (journeyman trades certificate) with fifteen (15) years industrial experience.
Strong mechanical knowledge and mechanical analysis of equipment.
Strong management/supervisory/leadership skills.
Proficient in English and communication skills, oral and written.
Strong ability to motivate staff actively.
Advanced computer proficient skills.
Ability to work with a culturally diversified workforce.
